Discover Nana On The Bay Thai Restaurant, a welcoming family-run Thai restaurant at The Wool Rd & 1 Burton St, Vincentia NSW 2540, Australia. Located in the Vincentia Shopping Village near Jervis Bay, this unassuming spot focuses on generous portions, authentic Thai flavours, and friendly service rather than elaborate presentation. From a food blogger’s perspective, Nana On The Bay Thai Restaurant is particularly appealing for travellers and locals who want comforting, home-style Thai cooking made with plenty of spice, herbs, and personality.
The menu covers curries, stir-fries, noodles, fried rice, soups, barbecue dishes, salads, and classic starters. Current delivery listings place spring rolls and curry puffs around A$12, mixed entrée around A$15, and popular stir-fries and soups at roughly A$22, although dine-in prices may differ. Dine-in, takeaway, and delivery are available, alongside vegetarian, vegan, healthy, and halal-friendly choices. Wheelchair-accessible parking, entrance, and seating also make the restaurant practical for a wide range of guests.
One of the strongest recommendations at Nana On The Bay Thai Restaurant in Vincentia is the Beef Massaman Curry. Recent diners praise its rich, gently spiced character, combining tender beef with a creamy curry sauce that balances sweetness, savoury depth, and warming spices. A January 2026 customer described the restaurant as serving “perhaps the nicest Thai I’ve ever had” and specifically recommended the beef Massaman.
The Green Curry Beef is another excellent choice. Fragrant herbs, vegetables, coconut-rich sauce, and beef create a comforting dish with enough heat to remain unmistakably Thai. Reviewers repeatedly mention the green curry among their favourites, particularly alongside steamed rice. For noodle lovers, the Pad Thai offers the familiar balance of savoury, sweet, and tangy flavours, while diners also speak highly of the duck Pad See Ew for something richer.
Customer feedback consistently highlights hospitality as much as the cooking. One 2025 diner praised the generous portions, welcoming owner, and authentic home-cooked style, while another halal diner rated the taste “10/10.” A useful point of balance is that some customers have found individual dishes slightly oily or occasionally less intensely seasoned than expected, so preferences can vary by order.
The dining room is small, cosy, and straightforward, with simple tables and Thai decorative touches creating a relaxed family-restaurant atmosphere. It is not an elaborate fine-dining space, but that informality complements the food well. Vegetarian and vegan accommodation is another thoughtful touch, making group dining easier when dietary needs differ.
For anyone comparing the best restaurants in Vincentia for memorable local dining experiences, Nana On The Bay Thai Restaurant deserves consideration for its Massaman curry, fragrant green curry, generous portions, and warm service. Service is very friendly. When the boss knew the dinner was for birthday celebration, he gave us money bags for free, such a big surprise! The Tom Kha soup has same taste we had in Thailand, highly recommended
Food was amazing, the host is so kind and recommended us the best Thai food I’ve tried, will definitely come again.
Food is delicious. Quick service with great customer service. Had a wonderful experience with friends and family. Highly recommended to try the Money bag. It’s an Halal certified restaurant as well.
Overall delicious food and super friendly service by the owners! Highly recommend their duck pad see ew, red duck curry and pork larb salad. However some of the BBQ beef (crying tiger) was too firm, the pineapple fried rice lacked in pineapple flavour and was on the greasier side, and the pad see ew could've used more soy sauce. Regardless, would absolutely visit again

The location is super convenient, and the atmosphere inside is warm, cozy, and welcoming. The food is truly authentic – full of rich flavours and cooked with love. You can really tell the difference when the chef is Thai and passionate about quality. We tried several dishes, and each one was perfectly spiced, fresh, and beautifully presented. What makes the experience even better is the friendly and attentive service from the owner and staff. They go out of their way to make you feel at home. Another huge plus – they offer halal options, which is great for families looking for diverse dietary choices. Highly recommend for anyone craving real Thai cuisine in a relaxing, homely environment. Will definitely be returning!
I annoyingly took this photo whilst eating. this is perhaps the nicest Thai I’ve ever had. The staff were very welcoming and really took care of us. We ate with vegans and they’re incredibly accommodating. I encourage anyone in the area give this place a go. It’s incredibly unassuming but the food is incredible. I recommend the beef Massaman.
Owner has a very bubbly and outgoing personality. Small family owned business, so atmosphere is warm and cosy. Food is very authentically Thai, home cooked style. We loved the green curry beef, pad Thai and stir fry vege dishes. Portions are also very generous. Would definitely recommend!
